How to Have a Low Stress Transition to Natural Hair
I hate to bust the liberation bubble for those of you who are ready to dazzle the world with your natural curls, but I must share the scoop. Transitioning does not mean that you have received a “no more hair salon” pass. Many women find that they need new support in terms of product recommendations and styling techniques. Often the woman who proudly boasts “I got this” after four months may feel frustration after six months because she can no longer keep up with her old at-home regimen. Here are a few beauty matchmaker tips for those of you that are contemplating or in the midst of a hair transition: 1. Tell…

Blaq Vixen Beauty Giveaway – We’re 3!
A Blaq Vixen Beauty giveaway is going down today on the first day of June!! Today marks three years Blaq Vixen Beauty has been around. It certainly has been challenging. I’ve wanted to quit countless times. However, you’re not going to find another beauty blogger like me. I promise you that. As much as I edit and get celebrity makeup exclusives for this blog, it still remains a place where I can be honest. I can be myself here. Everyone that has gave me words of encouragement and supported me has helped me get to this point in my blogging career. It really makes me feel as if I truly belong…

Solange Carol’s Daughter’s Spokesbeauty Event Makeup
When Solange was asked by MTV Style the cheapest thing she copped recently, Solange confessed, “I don’t know if this would be considered cheap, but this suit, which everyone keeps asking me if it’s some high-end designer, is a $150 suit from Mango. It’s amazing. It’s not the cheapest thing, but it’s definitely reasonable!” Yes, it’s very reasonable that Solange, as the spokesbeauty that she is, would arrive at the Carol’s Daughter’s Spokesbeauty and Monoi Repairing Collection Launch looking canary cool. With a luscious crown of springy curls, she rounded out her look with t-strap sandals, a plunging necklace and orange nails. Celebrity makeup artist Jackie Gomez was so kind to send over the beauty breakdown for Solange.…

Keri Hilson 2011 Billboard Awards Makeup
I’m not sure if I can adequately describe my adoration of Keri Hilson’s makeup look at this year’s Billboard Music Awards but I’ll try. I love how Hilson’s winged, green and gold eyes complemented her chartreuse, sheer bell sleeved Rachel Roy mini dress (paired with a turquoise belt) and nude glitter Christian Louboutin Balota Sandals. The touch of blush and baby pink lips pulled it all together. Celebrity Ashunta Sheriff so graciously (again) shared the details and inspiration behind Hilson’s look. [I] was reminded of Michelle Pfeiffer from Scarface. It was very 1970’s inspired with icy pastel colors [which I] made modern and fresh by infusing warm golden and copper colors to make Keri’s…

Nia Long Makeup on The View
Did you enjoy Nia Long makeup on The View recently? I’ve got the exclusive details! As you might know, I consider Nia Long as one of my girl crushes. Last month, I posted her entire skin care regimen but never had the pleasure of posting what products were used to create one of her beauty looks. Well, if you caught Long on “The View” this past Tuesday, you might have noticed that she was glowing more than usual. Celebrity makeup artist Saisha Beecham said that she knew that Nia “would be wearing a coral Rachel Roy [Fold-Neck] Dress, so I wanted to give her a subtle peachy/coral look.” You can follow Beecham on Twitter…
