And, coincidentally, all of these picks were used by celebrity makeup artist Jessica Smalls to prep Monae’s skin.

Kiehl’s + Pat McGrath Labs + Kiss

Celebrity makeup artist Renny Vasquez prepped Serena Williams skin with Kiehl’s products. The breakdown as follows from the brand’s Instagram:

[Vasquez] prepped her skin with our Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Mask, and let it sit on her skin for about 5 minutes before rinsing it off. Then he applied our Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate to help smooth skin and added our new Calendula Serum-Infused Water Cream, leaving her with a dewy and fresh complexion. Next, Renny applied our #1 eye cream, Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, under her eyes and on the brow bone, to deeply hydrate the area before makeup. Finally, to finish off her Red Carpet ready skin, Renny applied our Love Oil For Lips in Untinted and our iconic Creme de Corps all over her body, leaving her skin smooth, soft and beautifully moisturized!

Deemed the “ultimate skin prep” by celebrity makeup artist Amy Oresman, Lancer was the skin care brand of choice for Met Gala attendee Zoe Saldana:

First cleansed with The Method: Cleanse this leaves a fresh squeaky clean feel. Then I applied my favorite Lift and Plump Sheet Mask to give maximum glow and moisture. After, we used six drops of Omega Hydrating Oil to bounce the high points of her face. Then we finished her prep with The Method: Nourish Moisturizer on her T-zone. This gives glow in all the right places while still leaving a natural finish!

 

Lancer Skincare + Damone Roberts + Kosas Cosmetics

Celebrity makeup artist Matin Maulawizada elaborated how he achieved Ross’ optimal base with Lancer:

We have been discussing how important the skin is for this rather simple but impactful look I was doing for Tracee Ellis Ross. I started layering glow to showcase Tracee’s already impeccable skin. I used The Method: Nourish to seal the moisture on top of the oil that was already massaged into her skin to get a creamy not shiny texture. I then applied Dani Glowing Skin Perfector on her cheekbones. And mixed Omega Hydrating Oil with Dani Glowing Skin Perfector on her collarbones and shoulders and back.
