I haven’t had a Viola Davis beauty breakdown since 2009 – Get Her Exact Look: Viola Davis’s 2009 SAG Awards Makeup – so I was beyond giddy when I scrolled through my newsfeed this morning. Celebrity makeup artist Autumn Moultrie so graciously posted Viola’s complete Emmys beauty breakdown. Now, I am about to share the goodness with you. From her skin care to that pouty red lip, I’ve got it all!

skin care. Just a week prior, Moultrie was treated to a lunch and a “private, extensive, generous master class” with Kate Somerville’s Global Head of Education (and Global Brand Ambassador) Paget Bolotin at The London West Hollywood Hotel. Moultrie praised the “magnificent” brand, showing off her skincare swag on Instagram. She used the following products:
- ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment
- DermalQuench Liquid Lift Advanced Wrinkle Treatment
- Oil Free Moisturizer
- Age Arrest Eye Creme
face. I would have never guessed Viola wore MAC Foundation (I stopped wearing it back in 2009-2010) but yes! Moutrie used a beautyblender, which I showcased for National Pink Day last year. She primed Viola’s face with Tom Ford Illuminating Primer and used three shades of MAC Matchmaker Foundation in #9.0 (under eye area), #9.5 (center of face), and #10 (perimeter). Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer concealed minor imperfections. Other MAC products include their Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Deep Dark and Blot Powder/Pressed in Deep Dark.
cheeks. I haven’t stumbled across too many black actresses wearing Le Métier de Beauté products besides Gabrielle Union (lipstick) and Melanie Fiona (eyeshadow) so I was pleasantly surprised Viola wore their Le Metier de Beaute Radiance Powder Rouge in Rumor, a lovely pink-brown shade.
eyes. Can we clap for the greatness that is Tom Ford Beauty? Not only did Viola wear their Illuminating Primer, but her eye makeup also received the TF treatment. She wore their Eyeshadow Quad in Cocoa Mirage on her lids, and their Eye Defining Pen in Deeper on her waterline. Of course, falsies pulled the eye look together. Viola wore House of Lashes in Noir Fairy along with individuals on her lower lash line.
How did you like the look?
