Tia Mowry-Hardrict Wears Lanvin for H&M Hot Pink Dress on The Wendy Williams Show

Tia Mowry-Hardrict in Lanvin x HM on BlaqVixenBeauty.com

Finally!! This is the first time that I've been able to immediately recognize a dress that Tia Mowry Hardrict has worn while promoting The Game (which is coming on later on today at 10/9 C!!!). I am 100% sure that she wore a one-shoulder, hot pink dress with a black waistband from the Lanvin for H&M Collection on the Wendy Williams show.

Which Makeup Look Do You Like Best on Melanie Barnett-Davis: Edgy or Natural?

Melanie Barnett-Davis (Tia Mowry-Hardict) on Season 4 of The GameCan you believe that The Game is coming back in 4 days on January 11th? I can't believe it either but I will say that I have found new faith in online petitions. I think this show was well worth the wait and I am totally psyched. But for now, I want to discuss Melanie's new look - obviously she is more glamorous now that she's Mrs. Derwin Davis. As key makeup artist LaLette Littlejohn said, "[Melanie] is married and she's glammed up because she's a footballer's wife now. The look is more 'Victoria Beckham' and much more edgy. She's definitely had a come-up. She's a sharp dresser. The makeup is fun, clean and classic."

I've temporarily given up my search on where to find her silver and black color block dress but I've seen quite a few of you are still inquiring on where to buy. Let's just hope that this dress wasn't made specifically for her character!

Anyway, I'm not sure that this new look is really fitting for her - as someone on Facebook said, "She's all Beyonce'd up now!" I adored her long hair in seasons 1 and 2 but the short, funky 'do in season 3 really did it for me. The wavy chestnut weave, the contouring, the seductive red lips...I know it's been two years but she has changed quite a bit!

What do you think? Maybe I'm overacting about the promotional pictures but I am hoping that we will still be able to relate the Melanie that we all know and love! What do you say?

Promotions: Third Commercial for The Game TV Series

Seriously, @BETTheGame needs to tweet the link to the newer commercial for The Game tv show because out of the four tv spots, the fourth promo is the best one. I've been searching (fruitlessly I might add) to find the silver and black dress that Tia is wearing in the commercial. I love what Wendy (Tasha) and Brittany (Kelly) is wearing as well but I'd love to know where I can find a similar dress so when I get my "boot camp body" back, I'd be able to wear something similar and feel good wearing it!

It's Game On in six weeks ladies!

#thingsblackgirlsdo: Watch the New Season 4 Promo for The Game TV Show x Pics

"We're back, baby!" Soak it all in...yes, our favorite show is back! Someone on YouTube said that you could just feel the swagger in this video and it's so true! Malik has his mohawk, Tasha is still rocking the short 'do, Kelly is sporting a shorter, funkier cut and Melanie's hair is longer and auburn - very Keyshia Cole-esque.

Tell me, how many times have you watched the promo so far? Watch out for the new season coming January 11, 2011. Check out some pics from The Game Facebook page below:

Vixen, Interrupted: Blaq Vixen Beauty Does Cute All By Herself

My new haircut may not be as bad as Taraji P. Henson's in I Can Do Bad All By Myself but it sure is cute! Your thoughts? I can't wait to see how this look will evolve when my hair grows out. I told one of my best friends that I cut my hair because I got tired of the length. I find it difficult to style my hair when it's medium-length. However, now, I'm a "pro," which simply means I don't have to beg my sister to hook me up. In fact, I styled my hair like that in the picture. It looks so different from when I left the salon.

She said, "Wow. I couldn't do it." I responded that it was just hair. In two weeks or so, I'll have new growth. At that point, i'll just make an appointment for a wash and set before I leave to go to Missouri for Thanksgiving. I've been counting down the days.

I took in a feature I ripped out of Sophisticate's Black Hair Styles and Care Guide. Dante Blandshaw, Taraji's personal hair pro, detailed the steps that he took to create the chic bob complete with sideswept bangs that she wore at the Oscars.

The department head for Bad, Charles Gregory Ross, also provided tips on how to replicate Taraji's look: "Tell your stylist you want a layered bob, very textured with lots of volume in the crown area and more tapered in the back."

I flirted briefly with the thought of using extensions. I asked my hairstylist if I should get a full, human-hair weave to achieve the fullness. She said that I should wait to see how it will turn out when she cut it. I've also been on Hair Sisters, Clair Hair and Especially Yours to see if I could find a wig or weave similar to Ms. Henson's bob. So far, I've found some that were similar but they were missing one or more components: layers, texture, volume in the crown, or a tapered back. Luckily, I am not discouraged in my quest to find a style that was inspired by flyy girl April!

Getting back to my cute coif, I originally told my hairstylist that I hated my hair and I wanted to start over. I knew I still had split ends even though four weeks prior, a different hairstylist had chopped off most of my damaged length. More than anything, I wanted thick, sideswept bangs so I could hide my widow's peak and forehead. In the back of my mind, I felt a bit like Melanie from The Game or Bernadine from Waiting to Exhale. By cutting her hair, it allowed her a fresh start, even for a little while. I've denied myself a fresh start for too long so now was the perfect time to release the past.

I'm not sure how much length she chopped off but while she was cutting it, I silently cheered myself on for having the courage to go shorter. You see, for a while, I defined myself by how smart I was, how I was able to write...how I had "good hair." I've heard it all of my life, especially from past hairdressers and friends. They'll say, "Oh, you have good (or pretty)  hair like your mom" or "Wow, is that all of your hair? Girl, if I had your hair, I'd do all sort of cute things with it!"

This is the third time in my life that I've cut my hair. The first time, I didn't want a particular style. I just left that up to the hairstylist. The second time, I spotted a hairstyle in a hair book. Instead of my hairstylist telling me that she wasn't good at cutting hair, she attempted the style. The finish result didn't look anything like the picture. I hated it but I lied and told her that I loved it. When I started this blog, I was still waiting for my hair to grow out of that horrid cut.

When she was done snipping, my hair was a very crude (and thin) sketch of Taraji's bob. Then when she styled it, it had some volume, the back was tapered and the sides were a bit longer.  I had my swoop bang! I have yet to flip my bangs out like April models in the pic at the right but I will. In essence, this was the cut that I wanted back in early 2008 but never got. To see Taraji P. Henson with my dream hairstyle in the movie really inspired me to abandon my fear of going too short. Like I said, it's just hair and it will grow back!

Tia Mowry-Hardrict Wears French Connection Samantha Sequin Dress on The Mo'Nique Show

Editor's note: I could not find a better photo of Tia Mowry-Hardrict on the Mo'Nique Show so I had to crop this one from YouTube...sorry!

Tia Mowry in French Connection Samantha Sequin Dress on BlaqVixenBeauty.com

I didn't post this earlier because I wasn't sure whether or not if Tia Mowry-Hardrict was wearing a Brian Lichtenberg (was trying to spot the hood!) or another dress. Now I'm pretty sure it was the French Connection Samantha Sequins Dress she wore on The Mo'Nique Show last night:

French Connection Samantha Sequin Dress

Honestly, the fit of the dress threw me off since I noticed that the fabric seemed to be stretched a little over her stomach. Yes - Tia is three months pregnant and she is expecting her first child with her husband Cory Hardict in July 2011!  I must've missed this announcement last night when she and the crew (sans Brittany Daniel) visited The Mo'Nique Show to promote The Game.

I actually like this dress better than the Lanvin for H&M dress she wore on The Wendy Williams Show. However, I must say that I wished Tia chose another shoe choice! Shop these similar styles from ASOS, Michael Kors, Nicole Miller and more:

EXCLUSIVE: Costume Designer Stacy Beverly Speaks Out on The Game's Wedding Dress

Editor's Note: Since this topic remains one of our most popular posts, we've updated it to include Stacy Beverly's response.

In reference to Melanie's unique white gown, all I can manage to say is, "Wow!" I knew that a couple of you would want to know what her dress looked like but I never thought I would get requests on where to buy it! First of all, I want to reiterate the fact that Stacy Beverly, the costume designer for The Game and Girlfriends, designed this dress. I managed to contact her on Facebook. Here is what she wrote back:

Vixen, Validated: How to Get Rihanna's Hairstyle at the 2009 Glamour Women of the Year Awards

Naturally, I wanted to add my commentary on the sheer, but stunning evening gown that Rihanna wore to the 2009 Glamour Women of the Year Awards. I also got the deets on her hair!

Rihanna's dramatic Stéphane Rolland gown from the Spring 2009 collection is stunning. I would definitely wear it as a wedding dress!

Rihanna said, "It's very incredible that you're presenting me an award. It's a real honor to be named Glamour's Woman of the Year especially because I think of myself as just becoming a woman. I just turned 21 this year."

I recently received an email detailing how to get Rihanna's flawless hairstyle. Motions Celebrity Stylist Ursula Stephens used Motions products to craft the fashion icon's Hollywood-inspired coif.
