So I've been feeling a bit like Eva Marcille in regards to my shopping habits lately. For the most part, I've been splurging as my spring/summer makeup collection was lacking and I'm still not done! However, for now, I'll share some of the products that I finally bought along with my thoughts.
I'm officially a NARSissist!

Yesterday I finally picked up the March 2011 issue of Essence Magazine (with Angela Bassett on the cover). I was looking forward to a couple of features in this particular issue - the Essence 2011 Beauty Awards, Angela Bassett's "Unstoppable" and of course, Amber Riley's "She's Every Woman" photoshoot. I shot celebrity makeup artist Saisha Beecham an email after she revealed that she did Riley's makeup on Facebook.
For a moment, I honestly didn't think I would get this exclusive but Saisha came through last night. I am totally grateful that she emailed me back and I'm able to share this information with you all! She used all NARS Cosmetics. You can check out her profile on the Tamu Artist Agency website. For even more information, check out her website, her Facebook and Twitter.
Amber Riley is such a scene-stealer, thanks to Saisha Beecham!

Tomorrow, which is also the beginning of Fashion Week, New York City will have another reason to celebrate: NARS Cosmetics is scheduled to open their first flagship boutique there with the help of Fabien Baron. The 525-square foot space fuses elements of modernity and artistry with the feeling of a residental space that is inviting and uniquely NARS. The boutique's design encourages customers to play with color. To read more about the inspiration behind the boutique and the location, read the exclusive interview with Francois Nars and Fabien Baron.
It's a NARS attack!

The makeup look that Amber Riley wore the 2011 SAG Awards is by far my most favorite from her. Actually, I'm a fan of both the hair and makeup. The sleek hair with bangs provided the perfect palette for celebrity makeup artist Mylah Morales to create a simply glamorous look which consisted of false eyelashes, silver smokey shadow with a pinch of brown, coral blush and divine fuchsia lips. I thought it was red before but it's actually a hot pink shade from the new CoverGirl Lip Perfection line. Amber wore a dramatic Amber Barge dress.

Yesterday, spokesbeauty Kelly Rowland made an appearance at the Sean John "Empress" fragrance preview (which Jessica, Claire and CeCe got to attend). I did not realize how much I had grown to anticipate Rowland's makeup looks until recently. Since gold and purple were my high school (RIP Wuerzburg American High School) colors, this is the type of makeup look I would've done right before the homecoming game as it's flirty, sexy and cute --- all at the same time. Achieve the look with the following products:

Last night, Zoe Kravitz made an appearance at the Beware the Gonzo Premiere at the 9th Annual Tribeca Film Festival. NARS Lead Stylist James Boehmer created a stunning look for Zoe Kravitz by using the following NARS products:
[face] Boehmer prepped Kravitz's face with Pro Prime Skin Smoothing Face Prep. Then he applied NARS Sheer Matte Foundation in Barcelona. Any imperfections were concealed with NARS Concealer in Ginger. NARS the Multiple in Lamu made a guest appearance - Boehmer applied this bronzer on the cheeks, bridge of the nose and around the hairline. It's new for Summer 2010.
