The Vanity: Elite Model Management Partners with Coty for Fragrance Line Slated for January 2012

LaureenFashionMag.com reports international modeling agency Elite is planning to build a presence in the fragrance market by partnering with Coty. The Elite fragrance line is directly inspired by "fashion, beauty and modeling" (of course) and will consist of four distinct scents. "Each fragrance [will capture] the spirit of the modern woman," reveals Elite World CEO Cristian D'Ippolito.

The line is set to launch on a global scale in January 2012 and will include a major media campaign in collaboration with the International Elite Model Look contest.

Since I've discovered that I really love fragrances more than anything else beauty-related, I'll definitely updating this post as soon as I find out more information. In the meantime, does this new partnership interest you?

Rihanna Promoting Reb'l Fleur at Macy'sShortly after I noticed that I hadn't bought a new fragrance in a while, I immediately went out and purchased Reb'l Fleur by Rihanna ($49 for 1.7 oz ; $59 for 3.4 oz). I don't purchase too many celebrity scents (last one I bought was by Jennifer Lopez) because after a while, they all seem to follow the same "formula" - different celebrity, different name, different bottle but same fragrance.

Surely you've seen the promo where supermodel Kate Moss is sheathed in black leather, reminiscing about a recent rendezvous, right? Just today, I learned that the song in the background was by Depreche Mode from The Modern Age so that defintely added to the sex factor. I was thinking that Parisienne would be like "Chocolat" in a bottle - sensual, sexy, erotic - all of those adjectives that you would surely associate with the scent of a true vixen. [...

Like I previously blogged, Common teamed up with Diesel to help launch their newest fragrance, Only The Brave. To celebrate, Common gave an intimate live performance. Actresses Michelle Trachtenberg and Olivia Palermo as well as model Sessilee Lopez were in attendance for the concert.

Sampling Girly: Daily Makeover's Beauty Board

Did you know that Daily Makeover has a new feature: The Daily Makeover Beauty Board? I received an email about this new beauty panel. I even got $5 just for registering. Unfortunately, it's not in my actual bank account but it does count toward my cash rewards. For every $25 that I earn, I can choose to get paid through PayPal, get a gift card from Nike or Amazon. I can even donate my earnings to my favorite charity! The beauty companies will pay you to share your views on their products.

While there were no surveys for me at this time, I am anxious to see which major beauty brands I'll have the chance to influence, as corny as that may sound!  I'm having a case of deja vu - Daily Makeover Beauty Board seems to be similar to She Speaks, even though She Speaks send you products instead of giving you to chance to choose your prize. However, I can't wait to see what my first survey will be!

Bath and Body works promises that this fragrance will be "the essence of you captured in a bottle." There are over 20 exclusive fragrances for any mood and any occasion. Nowadays, when I buy a fragrance or receive a fragrance, I spend more time collecting them than actually using them. Just this week, I've been spraying myself with perfume and locking in the scent with lotion.

Diesel and Common Only Roll With The Brave

For all of you die-hard Common fans, Diesel is teaming up with the Grammy award winning hip hip artist to do an exclusive live performance. Common is the face of their newest fragrance, Only the Brave. This VIP event will take place on Wednesday, August 26th, 2009. I don't know about you, but I've never encountered a Common song that I didn't like. And while I'm not big on fragrances or purses from Diesel, I do like their watches.

But there's a catch: You have to be 1 of 500 consumers to make a Diesel Only the Brave purchase of $117.50 or more at the Macy's in Herald Square and other select locations. If you can do this without going into debt (or more debt!), you will receive two (2) general admission tickets to the exclusive concert, starting August 10th. The performance starts at 9 P.M at the Captale on August 26th.

Common will be performing his song "The 6th Sense." Diesel believes that this song "embodies the spirit of determination and perseverance." They also believe that this private concert "will capture the essence of empowerment, a sense that the performer depicts throughout his work, from his music to his community outreach."

I would have included the video for the song in this post, but it was hard to find a decent video - all the best ones couldn't be embeded and the ones that could were of subpar quality. But here's a link to it on ContactMusic.

On Diesel, Common has always thought that this brand was "classic, progressive and fresh." Common also admires that the brand isn't afraid to push the envelope. "I wanted to partner with Diesel because that's really what I'm about too - to be an individual and an artist, it takes both bravery and courage."
