Flyy Girl Gone Bad: Rock Steady Beauty Breakdown

"Taraji always wears Bobbi Brown stick foundation in the movie with a translucent powder," celebrity makeup artist Patrice Coleman revealed. A favorite translucent powder that I love using is Black Opal Invisible Oil Blocking Powder.

Taraji's look in this scene is described as "a pseudo 70’s retro look with a contemporary twist." The brows were accentuated with a dark brown powder but any dark brown eyeshadow will do, like Milani Cosmetics Powder Eyeshadow in Java Bean. Taraji's eye look consisted of M.A.C. Eyeshadow in Sushi Flower on the lid, M.A.C. Eyeshadow in Cork in the crease and a "light pink frost [eyeshadow] on the brow bone." Try Milani Cosmetics Powder Eyeshadow in Illusion.

Coleman created a heavy, extended wing look with Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Black on the upper lashline. She used a black powder eyeshadow for liner on the bottom lashline. I recommend Milani Cosmetics Powder Eyeshadow in Storm. To get hypnotic, lush lashes, apply Shu Uemura Black Velvet Feather Lashes.

Taraji's shiny pout? Brush on a coat of Paula Dorf Lip Color Sheer Tint SPF 15 For Lips in Pretty topped with CoverGirl Liptints Lipgloss in Whispering Pink.

“We wanted to achieve a sexy and sophisticated look while keeping it balanced with her dress. With luminous skin and neutral-glossed lips, I was able to really focus on her beautiful almond-shaped eyes.”

-Vera Steimberg for NARS Cosmetics

Even the 82nd Annual Academy Awards couldn't stop Zoe Saldana from living it up in the luminous lane on the red carpet! She wore a jewel-encrusted Givenchy gown from the Spring 2010 collection. The following NARS products were used to achieve a fresh, resplendent effect:

I completed her eye look with a few swipes of CoverGirl LashBlast Length Mascara in Very Black for dramatic, ultra-long lashes."

Vixen, Validated: How to Get Jennifer Hudson's Makeup Look at the Hope for the Haiti Now Benefit

On Friday, at the Hope for Haiti Now Benefit, Jennifer Hudson not only wowed us with her rousing version of the Beatles' "Let It Be" but with her makeup as well. Celebrity makeup artist Sam Fine gave Hudson smokey-statement eyes, a gorgeous glow, and fabulous, nude lips with a hint of rose. Recreate this look by using the following products:

face. "I always begin by perfecting the canvas," Fine detailed. "I unified varied tones, highlighed and contoured the face." To achieve this task, Fine used Bobbi Brown Stick Foundation, Iman Cosmetics Luxury Pressed Powder, and MAC Bronzing Powder. As he described in the Mo'Nique tutorial, he layered the MAC Bronzer and then NARS Blush to add a "pop" of color and shine to cheeks for a gorgeous glow. Try NARS Blush in Taj Mahal.

eyes. Hudson rocked strong, sexy eyes at the event. Fine appiled Stila Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Ebony from lashline to crease. Then he lined the inner rim, gently extending the shadow on the lower lashline. To finish her lovely smokey eyes, Fine added a feather pair of false eyelashes to increase the drama. Try Shu Uemura Black Velvet Feather False Eyelashes.

lips. Finally, Fine used a layering techinque for this area of Hudson's face as well. He used a brown lipliner to define her lips. The lipliner was a one shade darker than her complexion. He then used a satin lipstick from Dolce and Gabbana in a nude, rose shade. He layered on Yves Saint Laurent GLOSS PUR Pure Lip Gloss for shine and dimension.

As Sam Fine tweeted from his Twitter, Jennifer Hudson wants us all to know that we can buy her version of "Let It Be" on iTunes. All proceeds go to Haiti.

Vixen, Validated: How to Get Gabrielle Union's Makeup Look at the 2010 BET Awards

Gabrielle Union at the 2010 BET Honors
From Glamour's Girls in the Beauty Department---
I follow Fiona Stiles on Twitter and her blog. I was so looking forward to reading about what products she used on Gabrielle Union at the 2010 BET Honors. As it turns out, she spilled the deets to Glamour's beauty blog instead!

[face] Stiles said, "Gabrielle was wearing a lovely pale gold beaded dress, so we wanted something glamorous but still young and light feeling. I focused on beautiful, fresh skin." Three products that Stiles used were Estee Lauder Individualist Natural Finish Makeup in Cognac, YSL Touche Eclat in #4, and Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Loose Powder in Basic Brown.

[cheeks] Stiles blended NARS Blush in Lovejoy on the apples of Gabrielle's cheeks.

[eyes] Lancome Quad in Haute Sunset; Josie Maran Eye Shadow in Eternity; MAC Fluidline in BlackTrack. Stiles also focused on dramatic lashes, in which Shu Uemura played a part. Gabrielle wore two sets of Shu Uemura faux lashes. Stiles was going for "a bit of a 60's feeling." Lancome Virtuose Mascara helped merge the faux lashes and Gabrielle's real lashes together.

[lips] To finish the look, Stiles painted Union's pout with Lancome La Laque Fever Lip Shine in Lucent Nude.
