The Inside of the New NARS Boutique in New York City

Tomorrow, which is also the beginning of Fashion Week, New York City will have another reason to celebrate: NARS Cosmetics is scheduled to open their first flagship boutique there with the help of Fabien Baron. The 525-square foot space fuses elements of modernity and artistry with the feeling of a residental space that is inviting and uniquely NARS. The boutique's design encourages customers to play with color. Vixen, Validated: Louise Goldin for Topshop Spring 2010

Blame my alter-ego but when I saw these studded, spiked heels that Louise Goldin created, I stared. Drooled. Hyperventilated. Died. And then I did it all over again for five minutes.

I wish I had known about these shoes back in December. I had a sales pitch presentation that I had to do for speech. My group and I had to market a product in a way that it was never meant to be used. Since I live for sexy, unforgiving high heels, I suggested that we market heels as weapons.

Think about it: you don't need to learn how to use them, you don't need a pemit or license and they're more accessible. I have my grandma to thank for the idea. She used her steel-heeled pumps as a weapon. She lived that night, my dear old Chief (her nickname).

The Vanity: Lip Sets from Korres and Rosebud Perfume Co. for $20 or Less

While I'll always be a fan of Korres' Jasmine Lip Butter, I am slowly embracing their lip gloss as well. The only shade I had a chance to try was their Plum Cherry Oil Lip Gloss. This shade was a little too pigmented (completely opaque) for my liking - instead of a true purple color, it's more like a brick red. I'm not 100% sure, but I think there may be some purple undertones. but after reading Temptalia's review on these glosses, I want to try the Cherry Lip Kisses lip glosses, $19.50 as well. The Cherry Oil lip glosses are moisturizing, glossy, shiny and smell faintly like cherries.

Another use for Rosebud Perfume Co. Smith's Rosebud Salve? Use it to add gloss to your lids. As seen in the January InStyle issue: Your basic beige shadow is anything but blah when you top it with clear gloss. At the L'Wren Scott fashion show, Lancome artistic director Aaron De Mey smeared models' lids with lip balm. "The play on texture gives any ordinary shade an extra kick," he said.

For those of you who have been using Smith's Rosebud Salve since forever, I think you'll appreciate the Rosebud Perfume Co. Three Lavish Layers of Lip Balm, $16. A set of Rosebud Perfume Co.'s best selling balms, you'll find the original Rosebud Salve, Strawberry Lip Balm and Minted Rose Lip Balm for your lipsmacking pleasure. One of my favorite makeup artists, Denise Tunnell, sent this to me. I'm so glad she did because it's one of the products I've been using to keep cracked and crusty lips at bay. Seriously, I love myself enough to keep my lips in check!

The Beauty Closet: Kissable Couture Smooches I & II Sets

Editor's Note: The products mentioned in this article were sent for editorial consideration.

Kissable Couture Lip Gloss Mini Set in SmoochesCoutura from the Glamazons blog reminded me that I had yet another Sexy Little Find in my possession: Kissable Couture Smooches I Lip Gloss Set! The original kissable set, it contains five darling mini lip glosses that I'm sure you'll love if you haven't tried them already! From left: Dreams, Johnny, Dylan, Honesty and Forest.

When I received it back in February for editorial consideration, I found the packaging to be precious. Just like the images on the site, the Smooches I glosses are placed in sleek, black boxed adorned with a satin black ribbon. When you open the box, there is a description inscribed on the upper flap:

Dress your lips in everything posh. Kissable Couture Luxury Lip Glosses. Its infectious ability to keep you coming back for a single sheer application or double coat of sexy sheen and divine fluidity.

The ultimate look of effortless chic. Kissable Couture Lip Glosses. An ultimate timeless experience never to be forgotten.

Sigh. Whoever wrote that is a marketing genius. It's like a siren's call, beckoning you to open up your pocket book and splurge on this collection! It's $32.

What I love the most about these glosses is that they coat the lips in shimmery, chic sophistication. Now that I am a little older, I'm leaning more towards lip glosses that have more shimmer than glitter. I know that I am not alone in this journey either! While they're fabulous overall, the staying power could be improved. I don't mind reapplying throughout the day but I know some of you out there don't like having to reapply numerous times throughout the day.

The Kissable Couture lip glosses provide the perfect amount of shine without looking greasy. They're also moisturizing and apply without the usual stickiness. Celebrity makeup artist A.J. Crimson and model/TV personality Keisha Whitaker (wife of actor/director Forest Whitaker) have created a lovely line of lavish, luxe lip glosses! This is exactly the reason why you need to cop the sequel: the Smooches II Lip Gloss set. Another reason is that the Glamazons have an exclusive offer: snag the irresistable Smooches II set at 25% off! Just enter code glamazons at checkout.  Offer valid while supplies last.

The Smooches II Lip Gloss set also contains 5 glosses - Elusive, David, Solstice, Awakening and Tyler. Have you noticed howKissable Couture Smooches II Mini Lip Gloss Set huge the purple lip trend is right now? Rihanna, Letoya Luckett, Alicia Keys and the models at Naeem Khan Spring 2010 runway show have each kissed the purple reign. Not ready to commit to a vibrant hue of violet lipstick? Try Tyler. It's a sheer application of this trendy shade.

How to Get Rihanna's American Music Awards Makeup by Mylah Morales

Editor's note: The post will be updated with pictures soon. Thanks for understanding.

When I saw Rihanna at the 2009 American Music Awards last night, it was apparent that her makeup maven, celebrity makeup artist Mylah Morales, looked to the runway for inspiration.

If you followed New York Fashion Week, then you'll know that Pat McGrath, the P&G Global Creative Design DIrector,  made up models' eyes in a similar fashion for Prada F/W '09 show. The star product? M.A.C. PRO Glitter in Reflects Rust, $20.

According to Style.com, the theme was female empowerment. "Prada's women, with their violently frizzed-up hair, certainly had a disconcerting look about them as they advanced, with red-rimmed, glitter-ringed eyes catching the light with a nearly malevolent glint."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I never envisioned female empowerment quite like this. Their description makes me think of demon-possessed prostitutes in the age of Sherlock Holmes and Jack the Ripper. Just saying. Can you even imagine?

Thanks to Who What Wear, I know Rihanna wore an electric, custom blend of two Make Up For Ever Pure Pigment Powders: No. 4 and No. 6. Morales applied the two-toned pigment with a damp skinny eyeliner brush. She then completed Rihanna's statement-making eyes with several coats of CoverGirl's LashBlast mascara.

What do you think? Are you feeling Rihanna's look?

Vixen, Interrupted: Fierce & Fabulous with Kush Magazine

If you're not too busy following the coverage of Fashion's Night Out as well as New York Fashion Week on Twitter and on the blogs, I want to tell you about my article for Kush Magazine's Beauty Buzz section:

FIERCE & FABULOUS IN 4: A QUARTET OF TRENDS TO TRY.

That's the name of the first article that I wrote for Kush Magazine a couple of days ago. If I knew what I know now, I would've mentally prepared myself for a couple of things. I wanted to write about Korres since I'm on their radar now and I'm excited. However, I was pressed for time so I just decided to write about some of my favorite fall trends instead. I included copper eyeshadow, green nails (as R&B singer Amerie modeled at the David Elfin Spring 2010 Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week Show in the Promenade Tent at Bryant Park in NYC), matte skin and berry lips. I gave a short description for each and provided 4 to 5 product recommendations.
