Recently, I've had the pleasure of wearing a pair of SwitchFlops - a trendy twist on the ubiquitous flip-flop. Imagine being able to change your look (not your sole, as their slogan goes) by switching out the strap of your flip-flops within seconds?
Actually for me, it took a few minutes because I was trying to apply the Nicola strap (which is a silver and white jacquard strap with a brilliant clear rhinestone button) as perfectly as possible on my pair of white scroll taylor wedges. I noticed that the strap didn't match up with the velcro on the wedges. In my irritation, I just sticked them on, ignoring the fact that the strap didn't completely covered the velcro. When I stood back to "admire" my work, I was surprised that they didn't look too bad.
Created by Lindsay Phillips in 2007, the SwitchFlops collection consists of ten styles (two kitten heels and eight flip flop wedges) and various straps divided by collection.
Initially, I had my eye on the black and cork Lily kitten heels ($49) but settled on the white scroll Taylor wedge ($39), which is from the wedding collection. It came with Jordi ($12), a silver metallic and white zip strap with a silver metallic button. I chose this one because I'm short (5'2") and needed a bit of a lift.
I've been playing around with the online editor (which is handy by the way because you can come up with different combination to see if they're worth buying). Inspired, I've come up with some Fourth of July SwitchFlops designs that you can view in the gallery. Would you buy these?
