How to Get Kerry Washington's Makeup Look from Her L'Oreal Live UStream Video

Kerry Washington with Valente Frazier on BlaqVixenBeauty.comNaturally gorgeous Kerry Washington recently recorded a L'Oreal Live UStream with her hairstylist Takisha Sturdivant-Drew in which she talked about the products that helps keep her hair shiny, healthy and gorgeous. I was extremely happy to learn that she's a fan of the L'Oreal Everpure products since I invested a couple of products from this line (the EverStrong Overnight Repair Treatment and the EverStrong Deep Replenishing Masque.)

Celebrity makeup artist Valente Frazier mostly used all L'Oreal products along with a "beautiful baby pink blush" on her cheeks and "a little concealer under her eyes and around the corners of the mouth." Kerry just looked fabulous all around!

Magnificent at the Met's: Kerry Washington at The Costume Institute's American Woman Gala

Thanks to Kerry Washington, I am now contemplating adding the Gap brand to my wardrobe, preferably her scarlet Thakoon for Gap dress she wore at yesterday's Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala. Let me dream for once, ok?

Not only did the Gap co-sponsored the American Woman-themed gala, but they also teamed up with several of today's hottest designers to dress some of the stunning ladies present to include Kerry Washington, Jessica Alba, M.I.A. and Zoe Kravitz.

Starting tomorrow, gowns worn by aforementioned ladies will be up for grabs during Gap's silent auction. During this time, they will be on display at Gap's Fifth Avenue pop-up shop in Manhattan, according to the New York Daily Times. The auction is live until May 31. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Met's Costume Institute.

While that's cool and all (I mean, really), let's get back to Kerry. I love how she chose to complement her corseted and draped Thakoon stunner with a bronze clutch and matching peep toe shoes. It seems to make her that more vibrant. The slit was a nice touch too - love that she showed just right amount of skin.

Sponsored Post: Lexus Luxury Awaits x Chris Rock's "Good Hair"

Editor's Note: Since Blaq Vixen Beauty has recently partnered with Strictly Fab and Lexus, this is first of many sponsored posts from the Lexus Luxury Awaits campaign. Unfortunately, I haven't had the pleasure of seeing "Good Hair" but I'm just waiting until I get an invitation to see this documentary in San Antonio. Here's me crossing my fingers and toes!

The Lexus Luxury Awaits campaigned sponsored a recent screening of Chris Rock's new documentary "Good Hair" at the Regal Theater in Atlanta, GA on Thursday, September 24, 2009. The stars came out to shine and rule the the red carpet to view the award-winning film and support Chris Rock.

The concept of the 2009 Sundance Festival award winning film developed after Rock's young young daughter Lola came inside from playing one day and asked him, "Daddy, why don't I have good hair?" It delves into how the idea of good hair was created and perpetuated throughout the African American community and how that notion has funded a multimillion dollar worldwide industry.

Rock begins by examining the Bronner Brothers hair show phenomenon where he discovers an entire underworld of hair shows and the stylists who complete for the crowning glory. He also visits barber shops, beauty salons, chemical relaxer factories, and even travels to the international weave mecca: India.

From celebrity commentaries from notables such as Maya Angelou, Rev. Al Sharpton, Nia Long, Ice-T, Salt N Pepa, and Kerry Washington to the definitions offered by regular salon patrons, Rock aims to offer a holistic view of the definition of "good" hair. He even explores how African American hair care impacts activities (most notably swimming and exercise), pocketbooks, sexual relationships, and self-esteem.

Vixen, Validated: How to Get Kerry Washington's Makeup Look at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival

Editor's Note: Recently, I found out that celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose initially did Kerry Washington's makeup, courtesy of Beauty Blitz. I think celebrity makeup artist Brandy Gomez-Duplessis may have retouched Washington. Anyhow, I've updated it to include which products that Barose used as well. Enjoy!

Celebrity makeup artist Brandy Gomez-Duplessis did Kerry Washington's makeup for the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. What I love about this beauty breakdown is that you can hit up your nearest CVS, Walgreens or Wal-Mart and buy all of these products.

Did you know that Brandy has been a L'Oreal Pro Makeup Artist for 6 years? She says of the brand: "I can proudly say I enjoy working with L'Oreal Paris makeup. My many makeup kits are 95% L'Oreal. One of my favorite brands in the L'Oreal Paris family is the L'Oreal high intensity pigments HIP line which will soon be the Professional Studio Secrets."

"Kerry was such a sweetheart and was very easy to work on," Gomez-Duplessis revealed. Here is what she used from L'Oreal:

[face] L'Oreal True Match Foundation in Nut Brown, L'Oreal Paris Bare Naturale Gentle Mineral Powder in Classic Tan.

[eyes] L'Oreal HIP Color Rich Cream Eyeliner in Black, L'Oreal HIP High Intensity Pigments Concentrated Shadow Duo in Sassy. Gomez-Duplessis selected the taupe shade from this duo. L'Oreal Panoramic Curl Extreme Curl & Separating Mascara in Blackest Black. Lancome Artliner in Noir.

[cheeks] L'Oreal True Match Blush in Rosy Outlook, shu uemura Glow On Peach.

[lips] First, Washington's lips were prepped with L'Oreal Bare Naturale Gentle Lip Conditioner in Soft Sugar to protect them from the cold Utah weather. Gomez-Duplessis kept Washington's lip color soft with L'Oreal HIP Shine Struck Liquid Lipcolor in Euphoric. L'Oreal Paris Infallible Never Fail Lip Gloss in Modern Mauve.

Promotions: The Trailer for Chris Rock's "Good Hair" Documentary

With appearances by Nia Long, Meagan Good, Raven-Symone, Salt 'n' Pepa, Kerry Washington, Tracie Thoms, and Maya Angelou, I think it's safe to say that seeing "Good Hair" will be one of the highlights of this year for me.

I can't wait to see this! I think if I saw this, it would definitely drive home the fact that good hair is hair that's healthy, that's growing. Also, I think it would inspire me to embrace my natural hair texture and find products to keep it moisturized and more manageable, you know?

Have you seen the "Good Hair" documentary yet? Are you planning to?
