Stunning at the SAG: Paula Patton's Makeup at the 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards

Paula Patton at the 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild AwardsKate Hudson wasn't the only one walking the red carpet in ivory. Paula Patton arrived in a gorgeous J. Mendel gown that provided a bit of a challenge for celebrity makeup artist Fiona Stiles. "I wanted to avoid any bright pinks or tones that were too rosy with this beautiful J. Mendel dress since it could go bridal if we weren't careful." Since "pinks would scream bridal," Stiles stuck with an elegant palette of neutrals.

"I love using rusts and deep bronzes to create depth on eyes. The colors are warm and create shape without getting too muddy or dark. Playing up the highlights with a warm shimmery peach color adds striking luminosity without looking cold or ashy or dull," revealed Stiles.

[face] Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in #8; Bobbi Brown Loose Powder in Golden Orange.

[eyes] Laura Mercier Shimmer Bloc in Peach Mosaic; Givenchy Prismissime Eyes in Tempting Chocolate; Lancome Virtuose Divine Lasting Curves Mascara in Black.

[cheeks] Bobbi Brown Illumininating Bronzer in Bahama (when was the last time you used bronzer as a blush?)

[lips] Cle de Peau Extra Silky Lipstick in #121.

Vixen, Validated: How to Get Gabrielle Union's Makeup Look at the 2010 BET Awards

Gabrielle Union at the 2010 BET Honors
From Glamour's Girls in the Beauty Department---
I follow Fiona Stiles on Twitter and her blog. I was so looking forward to reading about what products she used on Gabrielle Union at the 2010 BET Honors. As it turns out, she spilled the deets to Glamour's beauty blog instead!

[face] Stiles said, "Gabrielle was wearing a lovely pale gold beaded dress, so we wanted something glamorous but still young and light feeling. I focused on beautiful, fresh skin." Three products that Stiles used were Estee Lauder Individualist Natural Finish Makeup in Cognac, YSL Touche Eclat in #4, and Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Loose Powder in Basic Brown.

[cheeks] Stiles blended NARS Blush in Lovejoy on the apples of Gabrielle's cheeks.

[eyes] Lancome Quad in Haute Sunset; Josie Maran Eye Shadow in Eternity; MAC Fluidline in BlackTrack. Stiles also focused on dramatic lashes, in which Shu Uemura played a part. Gabrielle wore two sets of Shu Uemura faux lashes. Stiles was going for "a bit of a 60's feeling." Lancome Virtuose Mascara helped merge the faux lashes and Gabrielle's real lashes together.

[lips] To finish the look, Stiles painted Union's pout with Lancome La Laque Fever Lip Shine in Lucent Nude.

Vixen, Validated: How to Get Rosario Dawson's Makeup Look at The Book of Eli Premiere

Yesterday, I went to go see The Book of Eli starting Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman. Not to reveal any spoilers but it was just what I needed. Actress Rosario Dawson attended The Book of Eli premiere this past Monday. At Rosario's request, celebrity makeup artist Fiona Stiles created a look that was "effortlessly beautiful" so Stiles kept it "clean, pretty and simple."

With minimal foundation and a color palette consisting of plums and bronzes, the focal point of Rosario's look was her lashes. Stiles provided a little extra attention in this area.

[face] For Dawson, Stiles used the same foundation/tinted moisturizer combo she concocted for Paula Patton: Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in #8 mixed with Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint in Bronzed; Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Loose Powder in Golden Orange; Chanel Poudre Soleil 4 Lumieres.

[eyes] Bronze, brown and deep plum eyeshadows. Stiles couldn't recall the brand but I'm sure if you're anxious to recreate this look, any similar shades you might have will do. Prescriptives Groom Stick for Brows in Cocoa.

[lips] Guerlain Terracotta Baume Au Coeur High-Shine Soothing Lip Balm in Cocoa Love.

Pretty for the People: How to Get Paula Patton's Flawless Face at the 2010 People's Choice Awards

I noticed that Paula Patton had the same radiant glow she had at the AFI Film Festival Premiere of Precious...well, let me tell the truth: she's always glowing! That's what she's known for and that is why she won the "Flawless Face" category in Essence's 2009 Celebrity Beauty Awards.

This is the type of glow you get with you've had lengthy, thorough sessions of "Sex Therapy" (I cannot get this song out of my head. I'm not even going to lie. Robin Thicke has grown on me!) Or, it could be the fact that she's pregnant! Yup, Paula attended the 2010 People Choice Awards with a cute little baby bump.

If you have a complexion similar to Paula's, the best way to get radiant skin is to mix "a silky foundation with a luminiscent tinted moisturizer." Celebrity makeup artist Fiona Stiles revealed, "It gives the prettiest and softest glow to the skin without making it too shimmery." For example, Stiles mixed Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in #8 ($58) with Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint in Bronzed and applied it as foundation. She then set it with a loose powder.

As I find out more information, I'll edit this post. Until then, what did you think of Paula Patton's look tonight?
