Completely inspired by Danielle of The Style and Beauty Doctor, I decided to do a short post on what I bought this past weekend at a few of my favorite haunts---Burlington Coat Factory, AAFES (or the PX) and Sally Hansen. I didn't really buy anything that would be considered "brand spanking new" but I did pick up one of the newest beauty products to hit the market recently.

Better yet a customer, guaranteed to buy it...

Just wanted to drop by to say that I'm still here - I've just started a new blog since I got a bit bored. For Breast Cancer Awareness, I was really looking forward to "Pink Fridays" but since I was moving, I didn't have time to fully plan what I wanted to post so that idea was scrapped. However, I'm sure many BCA-themed products made it into your shopping cart after all, right?

After a little after two years, Blaq Vixen Beauty is still not what I want it to be, yet I don't know where to start (or how to continue). There's still so much stuff I want to do but certain parts of my game plan are missing. So yes, this is far from over!

But...on a lighter note: I'm teaming up with Creme of Nature for a giveaway very soon. Up for grabs is three (3) Creme of Nature with Argan Oil Relaxers. Since I stepped on Washington soil, I've been hiding my hair in a beret but I might work my way up to a turband or even a full-fledged turban, June Ambrose style.

What have you all been up to?

This past Friday, I received an email from Creme of Nature about their "I Love Creme of Nature" campaign. In addition to the original five bloggers (Patrice, Sunshyne, Renee, Leila, and Nadege) that Creme of Nature featured in their inaugural print ad, they have decided to add five more. And surprisingly, Blaq Vixen Beauty was one of the five bloggers selected.

To see "LaKish of Blaq Vixen Beauty" in their press release was honestly unbelievable to me. However, it something that I desperately needed to see since earlier that day I had received some devastating news. It was a bittersweet moment but I'm thankful yet again for another promising opportunity.

It may seem strange that I was selected since I haven't really written any detailed Beauty Closet product reviews on Creme of Nature. When I was checking my website stats, I noticed that someone was directed to my site from the press release. Almost immediately, they searched for Creme of Nature. So I figured I should prepare myself for any backlash I might receive.

However, I have mentioned the Creme of Nature Professional Nourishing and Strengthening Treatment, their Detangling Conditioning Shampoo and the No-Lye Relaxer System with Organic Coconut and Sunflower Oils. I know I've tried their other products but I can't remember them at the moment. One of the questions that I've always receive is, 'What type of relaxer do you use on your hair?" More often than not I say, "Creme of Nature No-Lye Relaxer System with Organic Coconut and Sunflower Oils." Not only do I use but my mom and sister as well.

Creme of Nature just happens to be one of the brands that haven't been properly featured on Blaq Vixen Beauty. Of course, now that I'm in the "spotlight" for the brand, I'll definitely have to rectify that soon.
