Keri Hilson by Gaby Ramos Torrell: Giorgio Armani, Kevyn Aucoin, Make Up For Ever, MAC Cosmetics, Makeup Designory (MUD) and Ardell Lashes
Say what you will but Keri Hilson is such a gorgeous woman! For the LA premiere of “Think Like a Man Too,” the singer/songwriter tapped her glam squad to beautify her for the red carpet. Celebrity makeup artist Gaby Ramos Torrell chose to enhance Keri’s natural beauty with subtle, smoky eyes, nude lips and an unnamed cheek highlighter (I say it’s probably Scott Barnes Special Effects Illuminating Loose Powder in 24KT Bronze based on her previous beauty breakdowns). Here’s the rest of the look:
Did you love it? I wonder if she makes a cameo in this sequel?
I’m not sure if I can adequately describe my adoration of Keri Hilson’s makeup look at this year’s Billboard Music Awards but I’ll try. I love how Hilson’s winged, green and gold eyes complemented her chartreuse, sheer bell sleeved Rachel Roy mini dress (paired with a turquoise belt) and nude glitter Christian Louboutin Balota Sandals. The touch of blush and baby pink lips pulled it all together. Celebrity Ashunta Sheriff so graciously (again) shared the details and inspiration behind Hilson’s look.
[I] was reminded of Michelle Pfeiffer from Scarface. It was very 1970’s inspired with icy pastel colors [which I] made modern and fresh by infusing warm golden and copper colors to make Keri’s skin glow. We also added two pairs of Ja’Maal Buster Lashes to add some serious drama.
face. Sheriff started with Dior Skinflash Primer Radiance Boosting Makeup Primer (try their Dior “AirFlash – CC Primer” Radiance Boosting Color Correcting Primer). She followed up DiorSkin Nude Natural Glow Creme Gel in #40 (discontinued). Hilson wore Queen Collection Mineral Bronzer in Light Bronze all over the face. Sheriff created a light contour on the nose with this bronzer as well.
eyes. Tarte Dark Circle Defense Natural Under Eye Corrector in Medium-Deep was applied to the eye area. Sherff blended Ben Nye Banana Visage Poudre to set it to lift Hilson’s eyes “without looking too light and unnatural.” Sheriff added a touch of Girlactik Heaven’s Dust in Gold in the inner corner of the eyes. Wilson’s brows are “mute” thanks to Christian Dior DiorShow Brow Fixing Gel in No 541 Shiny Blond. This shade really lifted Keri’s eyes.
Sheriff used CoverGirl Smoky ShadowBlast in Bronze Fire to create Hilson’s multlicolored eyes. She applied Step 1 all over the lid, blended to the browbone. Step 2 was applied in the crease. Both colors were blended until the color naturally faded. CoverGirl Liquiline Blast Eyeliner in Green Glow was applied on the top and bottom lash lines and then blended was a small, tapered brush to diffuse the color.
Hilson is wearing both the Diva and 2nd Date Guaranteed Lashes from Ja’Maal Buster’s JB Couture Lash Line. Sheriff used two coats of Dior DiorShow 360 Mascara to blend both lashes as this “gives a natural look.” The finishing touch was Milani’s Liquid Eye Liner in Black which Sheriff used to create Hilson’s slight winged eyes for “that retro chic look of the 70’s.”
cheeks. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Tipsy was blended on the apples of the cheeks. Some of the Girlactik Heaven’s Dust in Gold was added on the cheekbones to make Keri’s face “pop.”
lips. Hilson is wearing CoverGirl LipPerfection Lip Color in Heavenly topped with Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Lip Gloss in Mocktail Hour. This gloss was just applied in the center of the lips so they looked “full and sexy.”
body. Sheriff first sprayed Hilson’s legs with Dior DiorSkin AirFlash Spray Foundation set with Tarte Celebutante Dry Oil Shimmer Spray. This spray not only added a shimmery glow but it also helped to make Hilson’s legs slimmer.
Maybe she’s born with it…maybe she’s wearing Sephora Collection.
Celebrity nail stylist Lisa Logan shared the details behind Beyoncé’s vampy 2014 Grammys manicure on her Instagram account earlier today. I always make sure to
stalk search her account for details whenever Bey steps out with new nails. I am never disappointed! Photo courtesy of People StyleWatch.
Logan said, “Beyoncé is such a creative force with a unique vision and loves experimenting with color. For this particular look, we gravitated to shades of purple and red and decided to start with a base of purple and then layer with red glitter to create a deep, sexy, one of a kind shade. The luster of the red top coat complimented her gorgeous Lorraine Schwartz rings and matching red lip.”
The great news? You can head to your nearest Sephora as the “Drunk In Love” songstress wore Formula X For Sephora Lusters in Atom + Eve, a ruby red glitter, layered over Formula X For Sephora New Classics in Pedal to the Metal, a pearly, metallic purple shade. Finally, be sure to seal your look with Formula X For Sephora Top Coat. Photo courtesy of Beyoncé’s Tumblr.
Wondering who else wears products from the famed Parisian beauty giant? You might just be surprised!
You ever wonder what type of beauty products video vixens might use on set? I know this subject might be taboo but sometimes you can’t help but wonder, right? Well, I recently found out which products were used to keep the gals glimmering and gorgeous in the “Kush” music video from rapper Dr. Dre featuring guest rappers Akon and Snoop Dogg.
One of the nail colors used on the set was First Class Ticket from the China Glaze Vintage Vixen Collection, as you can see on the model in the center. Here’s what the shade looks like up close:
I used the Seche Clear Crystal Clear Base Coat and the Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat with this captivating shade. It is a shimmering combination of indigo and violet that was used to adorn the models’ nails for a fashionable touch. Since they were rubbed down with Body Drench Quick Tan and Daily Replenish Shimmer Lotion, you know this hue popped against their skin!
Celebrity makeup artist Sharon Gault (who celebrity clients include Lady Gaga and Keri Hilson) applied Ardell Demi Wispies faux lashes with DUO Eyelash Adhesive.
