I am obsessed with Kerry Washington. I think I may have a crush on her lips alone. This is also the woman who plays the fascinating Olivia Pope every Thursday night. Washington wore natural makeup with touches of rose and berry for the 2013 Oscars. I did not love the bodice of her Miu Miu gown. However, I will say it was a gorgeous color for her skin tone. The happy hue seemed to make her glow with the promise of spring and romance.
Kerry Washington Oscar Makeup: Lips and Cheeks
On Twitter, Washington’s makeup artist Carola Gonzalez shared some of the products she used for Kerry’s soft rosy look. Minutes later, I found a Pinterest board for the Scandal’s star entire beauty breakdown.
Lancome said, “Kerry Washington brightened up the Oscars red carpet with a natural look with just a hint of color on her eyes and cheeks.” Kerry’s pretty pout was Lancome Rouge in Love in Rose Boudoir punched up with Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro in 202 Dolci. Her cheekbones were enhanced with Lancome Blush Subtil in Shimmer Brilliant Berry.
The Olivia Pope Manicure: CND Shellac in Negligee Over CND Shellac in Cocoa
Kerry arrived at the Oscars with special Olivia Pope nails. Her tips glowed with a lovely gold and pearl finish. Lisa Wong, nail stylist for the show, shared the how to behind Liv’s nude nails.
Washington wears a thin coat of Cocoa as a base. A top coat of Negligee completes the look. Wong uses thin, even coats of color.
Solessence says, “Negligee over any Shellac color is an easy way to add a bit of dimension, smooth out imperfections and create a bit of opalescence.” We saw a closeup of Olivia’s nails in “Happy Birthday, Mr. President.”
