Japonesque Artist Tools: The Backstory

I prefer a bold lip color (my “power lip“), mascara and eyeliner over a fully beat face. I’ve got a decent makeup brush collection, but Japonesque’s new Artist Tools collection changed everything. After learning about these great brushes in late November, I was intrigued by this interchangeable, magnetic, snap-on makeup brush collection.

These travel-savvy beauty must-haves actually look high-quality and professional-grade. Of course, I had to see how easy makeup application would be with these portable makeup brushes.

Japonesque Artist Tools: The Pitch

JAPONESQUE ARTIST TOOLS are interchangeable, professional quality, snap-on makeup brush collection inspired by the bright lights of Hollywood. Featuring a 3-piece starter set and five different makeup brush heads, Artist Tools by Japonesque has everything you need to be camera ready in — a snap!

Japonesque Artist Tools: The Outcome

After testing out the Japonesque Artist Tools Brush Collection, I wish more beauty companies would create travel-friendly, professional-quality interchangeable makeup brushes for the perfect look on the go. Seriously, Artist Tools are great additions to my makeup bag!

Made of supple, synthetic bristles, these tools will not succumb to makeup and solvents, nor they will trap or absorb pigments. This is not to urge you to skip cleaning your makeup brushes on a weekly basis, but at least you know that your brushes aren’t compromised. I like to quick clean with makeup wipes and deep clean with dish detergent (learned this from celebrity makeup artist Sam Fine).

It’s challenging to apply blush because this set does not come with a smaller brush for the cheeks. I wish there were two large brush attachments in this starter set. Other than that, I really enjoyed using this collection with my liquid and cream makeup products.

Overall, I loved the concept but wish Artist Tools by Japonesque came with its own case as well as a blush brush. Could you see yourself using these new tools?
