If you read Afrobella’s blog, than I’m sure that you know that Tacarra Sutton a.k.a. Spifster did Chrisette Michele’s nails at a “Beauty Bar” event hosted by Chicago’s Three Peas Art Gallery nearly two months ago. After reading Afrobella’s blog post on the fabulous manicure she received, I immediately started following Spifster on Tumblr. I also follow her on Twitter.
Three days ago (Saturday), Chrisette Michele stopped by the Kristol Blake Salon and Spa and Spiftster did her manicure! Even though she “wished she could’ve gone harder on @ChrisetteM’s nails,” if I were in Chrisette’s shoes, I’d be proud to rock such a manicure if I had the chance! Besides, Sade was playing in the background so that would’ve just been it for me. When I hear Sade, I associate her music with my time in Germany. That’s happiness for me.
Could you imagine what type of amazing design she could’ve come up with had there been more than enough time? I’m sure she would’ve jazzed up Chrisette’s digits nicely!
So how did this particular design come about?
[Chrisette] picked the pink, but she wanted something girly (Shorts Story). [I] didn’t want to introduce any harsh colors, so I stuck with the white (Alpine Snow). Also, with the time allotted, I couldn’t do much anyway. [I only had] two fingers [to work with so I chose] girly polka dots on the ring fingers with some bling. We discussed our mutual love for shiny things (laughs out loud). However, I also knew I had to show off my skill, so that’s where the thumb [designs] come in.
She used OPI Nail Lacquers in Shorts Story and Alpine Snow, seen below.
What do you think? Wouldn’t you love to get a spif-tacular manicure as well?
