Today's Chic Combo post is by far my favorite as I was inspired by Afrobella's photoshoot with Chicago makeup artist Bisi Essen of Crystal Eyez and photographer Cadence Gamache. I just love how she's holding up her blog tag necklace like, "Make no mistake, I run THIS!!"
Today was the first day her limited edition "All Of My Purple Life" Lipglass became available to purchase. Since I cannot be any more happier for her or the fact that I scored TWO tubes of AMPL after missing out twice today, I've been swinging on the Grustling Godmother's (of Brown Beauty Blogging) ovaries practically all day. I'm not ashamed either because I know this will probably be the closest I'll get to her. Another order (or two) of AMPL is in the works!
I'm not sure if I can adequately describe my adoration of Keri Hilson's makeup look at this year's Billboard Music Awards but I'll try. I love how Hilson's winged, green and gold eyes complemented her chartreuse, sheer bell sleeved Rachel Roy mini dress (paired with a turquoise belt) and nude glitter Christian Louboutin Balota Sandals. The touch of blush and baby pink lips pulled it all together. Celebrity Ashunta Sheriff so graciously (again) shared the details and inspiration behind Hilson's look. "[I] was reminded of Michelle Pfeiffer from Scarface. It was very 1970's inspired with icy pastel colors [which I] made modern and fresh by infusing warm golden and copper colors to make Keri's skin glow. We also added two pairs of Ja'Maal Buster Lashes to add some serious drama."
As you might know, I consider Nia Long as one of my girl crushes. Last month, I posted her entire skin care regimen but never had the pleasure of posting what products were used to create one of her beauty looks. Well, if you caught Long on "The View" this past Tuesday, you might have noticed that she was glowing more than usual. Celebrity makeup artist Saisha Beecham said that she knew that Nia "would be wearing a coral Rachel Roy [Fold-Neck] Dress, so I wanted to give her a subtle peachy/coral look." You can check out more of Saisha Beecham's work at her website. You can also follow her on Twitter at @saishabeecham.
Editor's note: Thanks to Blaq Vixen Beauty reader Liliana B, this post has been updated with the correct information. Very sorry for the confusion!

Another beauty mystery solved! This time, I finally learned what shade of lipstick Cassie was wearing in Wiz Khalifa's "Roll Up" video. I asked celebrity makeup artists Mylah Morales about the shade on Tumblr but she couldn't recall the brand. Then I received an email from one of my awesome contacts at CoverGirl. That pretty pink pucker is courtesy of CoverGirl Lip Perfection in Enchantress. I'm picking this up ASAP!!
Yesterday I finally picked up the March 2011 issue of Essence Magazine (with Angela Bassett on the cover). I was looking forward to a couple of features in this particular issue - the Essence 2011 Beauty Awards, Angela Bassett's "Unstoppable" and of course, Amber Riley's "She's Every Woman" photoshoot. I shot celebrity makeup artist Saisha Beecham an email after she revealed that she did Riley's makeup on Facebook.
For a moment, I honestly didn't think I would get this exclusive but Saisha came through last night. I am totally grateful that she emailed me back and I'm able to share this information with you all! She used all NARS Cosmetics. You can check out her profile on the Tamu Artist Agency website. For even more information, check out her website, her Facebook and Twitter.
TEMPTALIA---These couple of years I've been trying to find out what Halle Berry's makeup artist used on her since I always admired how her simple but elegant her makeup looked. You never hear about Halle Berry having a makeup mishap - ever! Tell me why it never occurred me to walk down the Revlon aisle at my local CVS! I mean, she's been a Revlon spokesperson since 1996 so that should've been a no-brainer!
As for the dress - personally I love it. If I had her confidence and her skin, I would've worn it as well. However, I noticed that not a lot of people cared for this Nina Ricci dress and I can understand that. Opinions aside though, she's still stunning!
[face] Revlon Aqua Mineral Makeup in Medium Deep. I wish Revlon would've upped the SPF to 15 instead of 13 but I'm grateful that they added SPF in the first place. This mineral foundation was formulated with coconut water which keeps Halle's skin hydrated and looking luminous.
[eyes] For Halle's smokey eye, you can recreate it by using Revlon Fabulash Mascara in Black (one of Halle's favorite Revlon products), Revlon Luxurious Color Smoky Crayon in Black Smoke and Revlon CustomEyes Shadow in Smoky Sexy.
[cheeks] If you look closely, you can see a touch of Revlon Matte Blush in Perfectly Peach on the apples of Halle's cheeks.
[lips] Revlon Colorburst in Soft Nude. This particular lipstick has Elasticolor technology and you can really see the benefits in this photo of Halle. It's marketed to "hug the lips" with "weightless color" that "feels like a second skin."
Editor's note: Keyshia Cole is wearing a lip tattoo in Pink Cheetah, not Pink Leopard.
As I predicted, someone was searching for "Keyshia Cole's lipstick" after seeing Keyshia Cole hit up 106 and Park earlier today. The "lipstick" that she was wearing isn't lipstick at all - it's actually a Temporary Lip Tattoo in Pink Cheetah from brand Violent Lips:
Dubbed "lip minx" and selling for $12.99 - $14.99, these temporary lip tattoos were created by entertainment industry veteran Jeff Haddad and his daughters Isabella and Sophia. Violent Lips are vegan, FDA-approved, vitamin-enhanced and are not tested on animals. One pack of Violent Lips contains 3 applications.
Now the question is: how do you apply a Violent Lips Lip Tattoo? Check out this how-to:
Optional: You can apply your own lip gloss or liner after your lip tattoo dries - but don't use a lip plumper! The Violent Lips Lip Tattoos can be removed with soap, water, baby oil or a makeup wipe.
Cute chanteuse Chrisette Michele shed the auburn locks for her hot new 'do, which is a combination of caramel and blond highlights, an upward swoop bang, shaved edges and a hint of a tail in the back.
"We're calling it the 'Epiphany cut' because there's nothing to hide behind, there's no hair to hide behind," says Michele in her GIANT Magazine interview. While we weren't against the length auburn locks the soulful singer sported before, we are totally in love with this coif as it allows us to see her natural beauty in all of its glory.
Continuing her newly found It Girl status, Michele models perfectly defined brows, smokey brown eyes, sweet pink blush and matching glossy pink lips. Add a pair of lush lashes and you have her look!
Melanie Fiona's glam team, consisting of celebrity makeup artist Jackie Gomez and celebrity hair stylist Cesar Ramirez, was so kind to send this exclusive beauty and hair breakdown of the chanteuse's look at the Steve Madden Music Summer Concert Series at Le Bain in New York City.
Fiona's look consisted of a smokey brown eye paired with a pretty pink lip and shiny, beachy waves.
From Vibe Vixen---Channing Hargrove provides a short and sweet review on Sobe.
Marketed as an affordable "new candy for your lips," Jennifer's new venture consists of five shades, all named after her favorite cities. Lucid Cosmetics employs an all-natural, ultra shiny and semi-sheer formula with natural extracts.
Shaunie remarked that she liked how "nice and flat" the lip gloss was, which makes it perfect for putting it in your clutch or in your pocket. Lucid Cosmetics uses the same packaging as Urban Decay's Pocket Rocket Lip Gloss. Evelyn thought the lip gloss packaging could double as a vibrator, which didn't surprise me at all.
Are you willing to "pucker up" with Lucid Cosmetics?
