Johnson's Blog For Beauty Challenge: Layer Johnson's Baby Oil Gel Over Shimmering Sunscreen

Bronzed Vixens

Happy first day of summer to all of you!!

If you liked the Johnson's Baby Powder as a body veil tip, maybe you'll love this next tip: layer Johnson's Baby Oil Gel over sunscreen. This is actually a Sports Illustrated (SI) Swimsuit Issue Beauty Secret I remembered reading on the InStyle website. Makeup artist Tracy Murphy says she reaches for the Johnson's Baby Oil Gel because "it's super shiny, repels water and looks absolutely stunning in pictures."

Who knew Johnson's Baby Oil Gel could be glamorous?!

Johnson's Blog For Beauty Challenge: Johnson's Baby Shampoo as Fabric Stain Remover

Clothes in BasketWe're (finally) at the end of our Johnson's Blog For Beauty Challenge. Read our previous beauty tips here, here and here.

I found Johnson's Baby Shampoo worked excellent as a fabric stain remover by accident. I discovered I ran out of Shout and needed to treat a stain. I suddenly remembered that I had a new bottle of Johnson's Baby Shampoo waiting to be used so I figured it wouldn't hurt to experiment a little.

I am happy to report that this amber cleaning agent worked wonderfully as it broke up the stain in my top without damaging the fabric. Curiously, I wondered what other fabrics I could wash or pretreat with baby shampoo. This is what I found:

According to Stain-Guide.com, to remove stains from silk, you can use baby shampoo as a substitute for liquid hand dishwashing detergent. Baby shampoo works wonderfully for removing stains from wool (but only if it's washable).

Wanting to clean your oriental rug? Use baby shampoo if you don't have natural soap or very mild vegetable shampoo. I'm not sure if this works with just oriental rugs or other carpets like Belgian rugs.

Livestrong.com reports that you can fix a shruken sweater by letting it soak in warm water mixed with a bit of baby shampoo for 15 minutes, the rinse it with cool water. After you've pressed the sweater flat to get rid of the excess water, you can stretch it back into shape.

Besides cleaning, what other uses can you think of for Johnson's Baby Shampoo?

Johnson's Blog For Beauty Challenge: How to Make Cocoa Butter Massage Bars for Cuffing Season

Naomi Campbell and Tyson BeckfordThis third post of my Johnson's Blog for Beauty Challenge has been a doozy to write---it's been in draft for a while now and it's only because I've been experimenting with "new" ways on how to use the beauty products the brand so graciously sent me.

That was until I stumbled across an About.com tutorial on how to make cocoa butter massage bars, which are perfect for cuffing season! You know this is the time of year where the brisk weather is the norm and you're looking for someone to help you endure those even colder nights. So massages would be at the top of your list, right?

David Fisher's Cocoa Butter Massage BarsThe basic recipe calls for one part natural yellow beeswax, one part butter (your choice of cocoa, shea or some other nut butter), one ounce of fragrance or essential oils and one part oil fractionated coconut. You can (I'm sure) substitute the cocoa butter and oil parts with Johnson's Baby Creamy Oil in Cocoa Butter. You just have to figure out at what temperature the Johnson's Baby Cream Oil will melt since it's not in solid form.

Once you have the beewax (melts at 160 degrees) and the cocoa butter oil completely melted (natural cocoa butter melts at 120), you would add in your liquid oils and fragrances. Stir well for best results.

When everything is melted and fully blended together, you would slowly pour the custom mix into your molds (your choice) to cool. Once they've completely cooled, you just pop them out and use them to give your boo (feel strange saying this) a well-deserved massage. Or if you feel so inclined, you could make a solid perfume by pouring your mix into a push-up lotion bar tube.

Would you try this recipe?
