This beauty breakdown for Serena Williams is courtesy of her makeup artist, Carlene Kearns. She posted what she used on Serena Williams who attended Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammy Party Saturday night. To complement Williams' seagreen Fendi dress, Kearns used a combination of Bobbi Brown, RCMA, MAC, Urban Decay and NARS:
It's a glam slam for Serena Williams.

You have Monica's makeup look by Mylah Morales, now get her hair by Ursula Stephen! “Monica was wearing an origami inspired dress (by Stephane Rolland, which Monica loved wearing), so I wanted the hair to have some contrast and shape. Her hairstyle is one that can be reworked on a daily basis and is easy to have fun with.” This half pixie, half mohawk cut is sexy and feminine.
- Start by premoisturizing the hair. Motions Oil Moisturizer Lotion makes wrapping and molding the hair easy.
- Comb the hair out and apply Motions Light Hold Working Spritz all over.
- Separate the hair into small sections and curl with a small set iron. By curling each section in different directions, it creates drama and life. “Right away the hair stands up on edge," reveals Stephen.
- Take a dime-size of Motions Shine Enhancing Pomade, mix in a serum, and run hands together. Push the product all the way through the hair, shaping it as you like by using the pomade.
- For added lift and dramatic effect, tease the roots at the crown of the head with a comb. Keep hair in place by finishing with Motions Hold & Shine Styling Spray.

Yay - another Janelle Monae post! I was searching for more hair and beauty breakdowns when I came across a post from celebrity hairstylist Ted Gibson. He was "elated to tend to [Janelle Monae's] epic mane" for the 2011 Grammys. Don't forget to check out how to get her makeup by Oslyn Holder!
I can rhyme with the fellas and rock a stage acapella...

By far, this has to be my favorite shade of red on Rihanna. Celebrity hairstylist Ursula Stephen said, "First, I looked for a new red color and brought a variety of options to try but ultimately felt this one really stood out as the best." I completely agree - this shade stood out in a great way.
“When Rihanna and I collaborate, we are always searching to recreate her image through her hair. Since we’ve recently done a lot of texture and length, we wanted to mix it up. While we talked about going shorter, I wanted to try something a little newer on her than the sleek bob that you are used to seeing."
What's her name? Red.

Jada Pinkett-Smith's voluminous crown of curls was the work of none other than celebrity hairstylist Marcia Hamilton. Achieve this look with White Sands and IT&LY HAIRFASHION products:
- Begin by using the White Sands Vegan Moisturizing Shampoo and Moisturizing Conditioner.
- Towel dry hair and spray White Sands Porosity The Fix from roots to ends. Celebrity hairstylist Tiffanie Dixon used this same product to enhance Whitney Houston curls for her January 2010 InStyle cover. This spray helped her curls to "dance with every move."
- Section the hair vertically - from the center of the forehead to the nape. Cornrow each section straight back - again from the forehead to the nape.
- Dry the cornrows with the IT&LY HAIRFASHION Ionic Blow Dryer.
- When the hair dries completely, apply IT&LY Pure Water Drops in the palms of your hands. While gently unraveling the cornrows, massage the drops throughout the hair.
- When all the cornrows are completely undid, flip your hair down and over to create dramatic volume like Jada's.
- For the finishing touch, finger comb the hair and massage more IT&LY Pure Water Drops.
Unfortunately, we don't have her complete beauty breakdown, but we do know what she used on her skin: La Prarie Cellular Power Infusion. At $475, this treatment keeps her skin revitalized and glowing.

By pulling some strings, I was able to get the complete beauty breakdown of Janelle Monae's look at the 2011 Grammys. Her makeup artist Oslyn Holder "wanted to keep things classic for the red carpet, creating a 40s-inspired doll-like beauty look." On Monae, Holder said, "Janelle has a beautiful complexion, giving me the perfect base to work in classic, yet fun pops of color." She definitely radiated perfection on the red carpet and that sequin blazer only added to her appeal.
Black and white tux, ain't no need for no other colors...

Earlier, I managed to chat with celebrity makeup artist Saisha Beecham on Twitter. She did Melanie Fiona's makeup for the 2011 Grammys. It seems like everyone was saying how amazing and beautiful Melanie looked on the red carpet and I agree. I knew that it was going to be challenging to get a full beauty breakdown of Fiona's look. However, I did manage to learn some of the products and brands Beecham used:
[face] Will you check out that fabulous glow? Beecham used the NYX Ultra Pearl Mania Loose Pearl Shadow in Yellow Gold. She said, "It's really sheer and reflects the light!" That's a makeup idea to try: use eyeshadow as a blush. Why don't you try this golden chrome cheek paint tutorial?
[eyes] For Fiona's shimmery smokey eyes, Beecham used eyeshadows from her Le Metier de Beaute Le Cirque Kaleidoscope Eye Kits. Again, I didn't ask which shades (I should've!) but hopefully later on this week, I can get more information! Fiona is also wearing Smoke and Mirrors Beauty Hollywood Lashes.

Okay, so makeup is so not my strength but I've managed to learn quite a few things. For one, I've noticed that Ashunta Sheriff's signature seems to be some type of "body bling" (not to be confused with Scott Barnes product that he created for Jennifer Lopez). For the 2011 Grammys, Sheriff used Josie Maran Argan Illuminizer, which is "an ultra-light skin brightener with a hint of bronze." As soon as I spotted the sparkles on Hilson's decolletage and chest, I automatically knew that it was Ashunta Sheriff's work. Get the rest of Keri Hilson's look below:
Did this "Pretty Girl Rock" or what?

Mylah Morales was one busy lady! In addition to Monica, Morales also glammed up Amber Riley for the 2011 Grammys. This is our third beauty breakdown for the Glee goddess and we have always been impressed by how Morales keeps her looking fab. Tonight was no exception. "Amber went for an edgy rock-and-roll look for the 2011 Grammys. I was inspired by the silver and gold of her dress and jewelry so I smoked out her eyes, taking a cue from those shades."
Idol? Try diva.

"I was inspired by Monica's sleek dress and wanted to create a sophisticated, sulty look."
-Celebrity makeup artist Mylah Morales
Monica and celebrity makeup artist Mylah Morales team up again for the 2011 Grammys. I noticed that Morales used the CoverGirl Queel Collection Natural Hue Minerals Bronzer and CoverGirl ShineBlast Lip Gloss in Gleam for Monica's Grammy look. She also used these same products for Monica's 2010 BET Awards makeup look.

face. "I started with black|Up Matifying Base to prep Monica's skin and then used CoverGirl Queen Collection Natural Hue Concealer (review coming soon!) and CoverGirl Queen Collection Natural Hue Compact Foundation for a flawless finish." To contour, Morales used my favorite bronzer, CoverGirl Queen Collection Natural Hue Minerals Bronzer. She says that "bronzer is her everything."
eyes. "I kept Monica's eyes matte black and used CoverGirl Liquiline Blast in Black Fire for definition." To keep Monica's lashes full, she pulled out CoverGirl LashBlast Volume Mascara in Very Black.
lips. For that pinky nude lip, South Beach Sand from the new CoverGirl Queen Lip Collection was used. Morales layered CoverGirl ShineBlast Lip Gloss in Gleam over it as a finishing touch.
