BeautySchooled: The 10-Minute Face

Instead of doing a 5-minute face or even a 15-minute face, I did a 10-minute one. Here is what I used:

facial wash. SensiClear kit, which I was supposed to review this past Sunday. I'll have to start scheduling my Skincare Sunday posts just in case I'm too tired to blog.

moisturizer. Clinique Even Better Skin Tone Corrector and Clinique Even Better Skin Tone Correcting Moisturizer SPF 20. I used both products twice today. I plan to use them again right before I go to bed.

foundation + powder. Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation in Dark 2, which I think looks a little too light in this photo...or maybe it's the M·A·C Mineralize Skinfinish in Dark that did the trick. Earlier, when I first applied it, it was too dark. This was even with Black Opal Invisible Oil Blocking Powder. However, it could just be the camera that I'm using...miss my Canon PowerShot!

primer. Clear Prep FX Matte Foundation Primer and Anti-Acne Treatment

eyeshadow. Love My Eyes Roll on Eyeshadow in Copper Mist. Surprisingly, this eyeshadow is pigmented. It also takes care of the metallic lid trend that I wanted to try. Maybe if I feel motivated, I'll smoke it out.

mascara. The review for CoverGirl LashBlast Lash mascara is in draft. I love that this mascara doesn't leave my lashes stiff and flaky.

lipgloss. Korres Jasmine Lip Butter with Lancome Color Fever Plumper in City Mauve over it. I hate that my mom's camera washes out the color. It's a mauve nude shade.

hair. I threw it up in a messy (and I do mean messy) ballerina bun earlier but since I wanted to make sleek down my edges and make it look perfect, I took it down. Then I twisted it up in the back and clipped it. I'm running low on my Soft and Beautiful StyleProtect Sculpting Gel and I'm trying to preserve the little that I have left. That's why my edges are sticking up! My swoop bang is nonexistent since I kept brushing my hair back. No, I didn't go to school like this. It was only after I got home that I decided to fix my hair.

What do you use for your 10-minute face?

Beautyschooled: Fifteen Minute Makeup for Acne Scarred Brown Skin

Applying Blush on Brown Skin

Today was the first day of classes. I didn't even have time for my 5 minute face this morning. However, all is not lost. I thought this would be a perfect time to blog about what to use when you only have (roughly) fifteen minutes, have acne scarred brown skin but still want to look cute for class:

1. Primed to the Ready. The name of the game is double duty beauty. When you need to look presentable in five minutes or less, you need to use products that provide you with a multitude of benefits. This way, you can apply them quickly and have room in your makeup bag for other products you might want to use later on (i.e. eyelash curler, sharpener, sunscreen, etc.) We love: CoverGirl Simply Ageless Serum Primer, MAC Tabloid Beauty Prep + Prime Line Filler, Cover FX Clearprep FX, Roc Brilliance Anti-Aging Face Primer and Korres Anti-ageing Quercetin & Oak Wrinkle Primer.

2. Face the Foundation.
Select a full-coverage, creme foundation that can double as a concealer. Start with a sheer application all over the face with a concealer brush (like eco tools Concealer Brush), blending thoroughly. Layer and blend over problem areas and set with setting powder (like Black Opal Invisible Oil Blocking Pressed Powder). Remember, it's easier to conceal a blemish than an open sore so refrain from picking and squeezing! We love: CoverFX Total Coverage Cream Foundation SPF 30, Black Opal True Color Stick Foundtion SPF 8, Fashion Fair Fast Finish Stick Foundation, Iman Second to None Foundation Stick, Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse Ultra Hydrating Foundation and Iman Cream to Powder Foundation.

3. Blush and Flush. This step is optional but everyone can benefit from a little blush to brighten the face! Nowadays, cosmetic companies are adding skin-loving ingredients to blushes so not only will you have a healthy and gorgeous glow but your skin will also reap the benefits. We love: Fusion Beauty SculptDiva TM Contouring & Sculpting Blush, CoverGirl & Olay Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush, Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush, Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush, 100% Pure Cosmetics Fruit Pigmented Blush and NYX HD Studio Photogenic Grinding Blush.

BeautySchooled: Porsche Teair's Red-Lipped Interview Look

Recently, I discovered that one of the chicks that I went to high school with is a makeup artist for MAC so I thought it would be a great idea to display her makeup skills in this special edition of BeautySchooled. Porsche Teair is going to teach us how to create an interview look that consists of a neutral eye with a crisp, crimson lip.
