In honor of Earth Day (this Thursday, Aprill 22), I've created my "Agrarian Woman" series, which details organic/natural brands that I've had the chance to either sample or buy. First up is Tina's Pleasures from Tina Ison. Thanks to Ninapilar of Sky Sister Studio, I sampled the All Natural Body Butter, the All Natural Daily Scrub and the All Natural Lip Balm. In addition to these products, Ms. Ison also sells bath salts, the All Natural Body Lotion, All Natural Shower Gel and organic soap bars (available in small or large).
Easily, the star product of this organic line is the All Natural Body Butter. This actually surprised me because I thought my favorite product would be the All Natural Daily Scrub. But if I had to choose just one product to repurchase again, it would definitely be this product. It's a rich, smooth and silky treat for the body. Sold in either whipped or firm, I think Ms. Ison should sell a lite version for the summer.
You know how Bliss have a lite version of their Bliss Lemon + Sage Body Butter? I think the same concept could work for the All Natural Body Butter. However, the original version could work as a foot/hand treatment. It heals cracked, ashy hands and feet.
Next is the All Natural Body Scrub. Can you believe this product actually triggered a childhood memory? The scrub looks like a combination of oatmeal and brown sugar. It smelled so good that I was tempted to scarf it down. As idiotic as that sounds, I found it to be gentle enough to use on the face as well. The only drawback is that it's a pain to clean up! Whatever was left from the scrub (that didn't dissolve with water) became trapped in the crevices of my shower mat. After using this scrub, I would just throw the mat in the washer.
Lastly, there's the All Natural Lip Balm. I love that the lip balm didn't leave a greasy/oily film on the lips. The finish was mostly matte with a hint of subtle shine. When my brother asked me to lend him some lip balm for his cracked and peeling lips, I handed him this lip balm. Not surprisingly, my brother appreciated that it was unscented but still kept his lips supple, soothed and moisturized.
At the present time, each product is sold in a two pack: the body butter retails for $20, the body scrub also is $20 and the lip balm is $5.
Have you tried Tina's Pleasures before? If so, what was your impression about this organic beauty brand?
