Black Woman-Owned Etsy Shops I Love

Black woman-owned Etsy shops is where’s it’s at! Shopping small, buying black is a cinch with Brown Butter Beauty, Daniela Tabois, and Ashaka Givens.

I finally have a full minute to blog! I curated a wishlist of products from my favorite black woman-owned Etsy shops for the summer season.

Let’s go!

Black Woman-Owned Etsy Shop: Brown Butter Beauty

Wishlist: Brown Butter Beauty Rose & Elemi Body Oil, $24 (available)

I’m in the market for more body oils. I bought Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Deep Radiance Gel Oil recently but, unfortunately, I’m not pleased. Every time I use this product, my skin feels oily and dry rather than radiant and moisturized. For this reason, I decided to browse the offerings of my favorite black woman-owned Etsy shops when I discovered Brown Butter Beauty’s Rose & Elemi Body Oil, $24.

Brown Butter Beauty founder Christine Gant whipped up an elegant, lightweight, multipurpose oil that puts me in the mind of Tom Ford without the luxury sticker tag. She included exotic scents such as Damascena Rose, Galbanum, Orris, and Elemi. Each note plays well together to produce a light and feminine scent perfect year-round.

Above all, I love it when I can score luxury beauty items at bargain prices. At any rate, I cannot wait to add the Rose & Elemi Body Oil to my fragrance wardrobe. Christine is largely known for her hair products, but I have a feeling her skincare is just as addictive:

Black Woman-Owned Etsy Shop: Daniela Tabois

Wishlist: Boujee Rhinestone Pullover Jumper Cotton Sweatshirt, $180 (I have it in grey, but I really need it in black now)

It is so challenging to find authentic, black-owned luxury brands. When I do encounter a high-end business, especially on Etsy, I squeal with delight. Then, I promptly add that shop to my favorites.

Daniela Tabois specializes in amazing bridal attire, but there are a few pieces in her shop that are suitable for wear beyond weddings and wedding receptions. However, during the pandemic, she was my main supplier for well-made, luxury face masks. I truly regret not buying all of her masks but I do have a really impressive selection. I always keep a couple of her masks in my purse when I’m out shopping.

However, let me zone in on this black ‘Boujee’ sweatshirt that’s currently a hot commodity in her shop. Like I said previously, I own it in grey and love pairing it with my 6 Inch Premium Waterproof Timberland Boots in the grey/lavender colorway. The grey version features multicolored letters and depending on my mood for that day, I’ll choose lavender, teal or maybe even fuchsia pants to pull the look together. But the black one just embodies that luxurious, soft life vibe, don’t you agree?

Anyway, I never thought to pair mine with sheer, flared pants – I suppose that’s a look I need to fully explore one day. The Pearl Rhinestone Bride Sweatshirt is also another fave even if you’re not an actual bride. Buy it anyway to invite that blushing bride energy into your life or to pay homage to Karl Lagerfeld.

Black Woman-Owned Etsy Shop: Ashaka Givens (On Hiatus)

Wishlist: Wide Brim-Rabbit Fur Velour Fedora Hat with Interchangeable Bands, $350

I’m the proud owner of two Ashaka Givens Wool Fedora Hats with Gold Cuban Link Bands. Ever since I moved to Hawaii, I’ve worn both my black and toffee fedoras with many of my maxi dresses. When I moved back to Texas, I treated myself to her liquid gold head wrap and the vibrant Ankara wrap. Both are just chef’s kiss in person – extremely high-quality with a palpable luxurious energy.

Ms. Givens was the among the first black luxury designers I ever supported. Besides hats, she also sells brooches (I have her Afro Cameo Brooch), headwraps, and sweatshirts:
