In reference to Melanie's different but gorgeous wedding dress, all I can manage to say is, "Wow!" I knew that a couple of you would want to know what her dress looked like but I never thought I would get requests on where to buy it! First of all, I want to reiterate the fact that Stacy Beverly, the costume designer for The Game and Girlfriends, designed it. I managed to contact her on Facebook. Here is what she wrote back:Thank you so much for your kind words and support. I had no idea that Melanie's wedding dress would go over so big...who knew? Unfortunately, because the show was canceled I have no access to the pattern or the dress. The studio owns it all, which is why costume designers have to begin to negotiate terms for ownership of their designs and creations.
Are you as shocked as I am? I'm actually tempted to get in contact with the studio but I'm sort of daunted by the task. We promise not to find any more "dupes" because as many of you have expressed, no other dress that we have found even compares to the original. I actually recommend that you get a dress like this made for best results. Simply print the above picture, find a seamstress in your area and have them replicate the style.
I'm actually diffing this look. My wedding gown was form fitting but I can see myself slipping into this nicely. I love the no veil...I might have added a small follow, though.
