Hopefully you remembered that today was Happy Black Girl Day, right? Right, and here's some news that will hopefully make this day a happy one for you, queen:
As Patti LaBelle sang, "It's a new day!" The COVERGIRL Queen Collection is getting an upgrade by Pat McGrath in the lipstick department in January 2011. First, CoverGirl launched the Natural Hue Concealer back in July (swatches were originally posted on the fan page but I'll post them here with a review very soon) and now this! As Krissy of Addicted to All Things Pretty pointed out, the new bronze packaging will probably remind you a bit of Fashion Fair but I prefer the bronze packaging because it gives it a more regal feel. I thought the purple packaging was fitting but I was definitely wrong. The bronze packaging is everything!
And get this: these lip shades have a new technology: silk therapy! Infused with silk protein, this allows your lips to help sustain moisture levels which translates to you having more smooth and gorgeous lips. Check out the shades below (click to enlarge):
There are six categories to choose from:
Browns & Spices. Coffee Break, Spicy Seduction, Mocha Locha and Javalicious
Nudes & Naturals. South Beach Sand, Cool Khaki, Au Natural and Nude Attitude
Plums & Wine. Fine Wine, Royal Plum, Burgundelicious and Tawny Port
Corals & Reds. Classy Coral, See Red, Into the Red and Paint the Town
Pinks & Roses. Penelope Pink, Girly Pink, Rosy Tomorrows and Powderpuff Pink
Mauves & Berries. Very Elderberry, Berry Bing, Regal Raspberry, and Ruby Slipper
Since CoverGirl Queen Collection is operating to the Beyonce tune "Upgrade U," can we get some more bronzer shades? Maybe even a shade that would work wonderfully as a highlighter? But what I would really love it if we get some blush because at the moment, it seems like this brand is playing into the myth that we shouldn't wear it at all! But hopefully, the new lip colors will be an introduction to some exciting changes to the CoverGirl Queen Collection!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I love the Queen Collection and now new fancy lipsticks? Lovely!
