In reference to Melanie's unique white gown, all I can manage to say is, "Wow!" I knew that a couple of you would want to know what her dress looked like but I never thought I would get requests on where to buy it! First of all, I want to reiterate the fact that Stacy Beverly, the costume designer for The Game and Girlfriends, designed it. I managed to contact her on Facebook. Here is what she wrote back:
Thank you so much for your kind words and support. I had no idea that Melanie's wedding dress would go over so big...who knew? Unfortunately, because the show was canceled I have no access to the pattern or the dress. The studio owns it all, which is why costume designers have to begin to negotiate terms for ownership of their designs and creations.
Which means: No, you cannot go into stores and buy this dress. Also, please note that if you send me an email asking me where you can buy this particular dress, I'll simply redirect you back to this post as I haven't discovered any new information since then. Sorry guys!
I actually recommend that you get a dress like this made for best results. Simply print the above picture, find a seamstress in your area and have them replicate the style. Let's take a look at the actual wedding dress that Tia Mowry wore at her own wedding:
I'm actually diffing this look. My wedding gown was form fitting but I can see myself slipping into this nicely. I love the no veil...I might have added a small follow, though.
