As you might know, I consider Nia Long as one of my girl crushes. Last month, I posted her entire skin care regimen but never had the pleasure of posting what products were used to create one of her beauty looks. Well, if you caught Long on “The View” this past Tuesday, you might have noticed that she was glowing more than usual. Celebrity makeup artist Saisha Beecham said that she knew that Nia “would be wearing a coral Rachel Roy [Fold-Neck] Dress, so I wanted to give her a subtle peachy/coral look.” You can check out more of Saisha Beecham’s work at her website. face. “She did her normal moisturizing regimen before we began. I followed up [with] Smashbox Targeted Pore and Line Primer. This product is amazing as it gave her a smooth canvas for me to apply foundation.” To really open up Nia’s eyes, Beecham used Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in Golden. “[This concealer] helped with her bright, youthful look,” Beecham said.
eyes. Beecham blended Smashbox Single Eyeshadow in Flamingo all over the lid. “This [also] opened her sexy, slender eyes and was a great [shade] to complement her dress.” Beecham applied the bronzer shade from Smashbox’s Step-by-Step Contour Kit in the crease. She also applied in on Long’s bottom lashline. To line Long’s upper lashline, Beecham reached for a small angled brush and used Smashbox Cream Eye Liner in Caviar. Beecham followed up with a coat of Smashbox Bionic Mascara in Jet Black to both the top and bottom lashes. “[This mascara] took her stare from naturally beautiful to sexy.”
cheeks. Finally we get to the focus of Nia Long’s look – that megawatt glow that everyone kept asking about. Beecham used two products – Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in Calypso Coral and NYX Loose Pearl Eye Shadow in Yellow Gold. Sounds familiar? Beecham used this same product for Melanie Fiona at the Grammys! “For the apples of her cheeks, I used [Calypso Coral] and applied it with a flat foundation brush. This helped us achieve our peachy coral look that we described earlier. The creamy sheen kept her dewy and fresh Of course, I had to add our regular highlight to her cheeks by using [Yellow Gold].”
lips. Did you know that by applying your lip products by layers – lip pencil, lipstick and then lip gloss – your lip look will last longer? Beecham used this trick on Long to “give a powerful pop to her lips that would last [throughout the show].” Beecham filled in Long’s lips with Smashbox Doubletake Lip Color in Amaretto. She applied a layer of Smashbox Photo Finish Lipstick with Sila Silk in Alluring. As the finishing touch, Beecham chose Smashbox In Bloom Limitless Long Wear Lip Gloss in Endless Kiss.
Did you watch “The View” on Tuesday? What did you think about Nia Long’s overall look? As Nia Long gave Whoopi Goldberg props for impacting her life, I’d like to give Saisha Beecham props for keeping Nia Long looking gorgeous!
