I've been using Walgreens Alpha Hydroxy Face Cream in conjunction with the AHA Souffle. I bought this face cream before I received the AHA Souffle. Unlike the AHA Souffle, this is 8% AHA of 70% solution.
What it does: Walgreens' Alpha Hydroxy Face Cream is a fragrance free skin treatment and exfoliator to help gently restore a fresh, healthy and more youthful appearance. Alpha Hydroxy Acid, a natural, non-toxic derivative of sugar cane, removes dead skin cells, assist skin tone and skin texture.
Warnings: Slight and temporary tingling or stinging may result. Contains alpha hydroxy acid (glycolic acid: 8% of pure 70% solution). This product contains an Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards. For external use only. Keep out of the reach of children. Avoid contact in or around eyes. Discontinue use immediately if any irritation or burning occurs.
How to Use: Apply sparingly and evenly to skin after cleansing. Use daily for maximum benefits to help skin maintain natural suppleness. To be used in conjunction with a moisturizer if desired.
Ingredients: Water, Glycolic Acid, Propylene Glycol, Isopropyl Palmitate, Stearic Acid, Ammonium Hydroxide, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Isostearic Acid, Dimenthicone, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, PEG-40 Stearate, Sorbitan Stearate, Sorbic Acid, BHT, Imidazolidinyl Urea.
Basically, what I said for the AHA Souffle applies to this face cream as well. For the past 5 months, I've been using both AHA products to help minimize my facial scarring. I've noticed some of my scars are smoother and lighter, particularly my birthmark. I have a nice-sized birthmark on the right side of my face and I hate it! I want it gone even though it's one of my trademarks. My various scars are another one of my trademarks.
However, since I have a wedding to attend in June, I'd like to speed up the healing process. I've learned that exfoliation helps speed up the cell-turnover, which reveals more radiant and healthy-looking skin. When I used to work in fast food, my hands made me look older. In fact, when I was in "A" school for the Navy, guys used to think I was 25 because of how my hands looked! That was about two years ago but I always remember that incident every time I look at my hands. So, I've been using this face cream on my hands to keep them supple and younger-looking.
