I am incompetent when it comes to false eyelashes and fake nails. The last time I officially indulged in false nails was in 5th grade. Two words: hot mess. As a tomboy who usually stayed away from products that were ultra-feminine, my first attempt was an embarrassing mockery. My archenemy took one good look at my jacked-up falsies and shook her head. Not only that, but these nails were unapologetically false-looking. I didn't buy them; I won them, I guess you can say.
I vowed that was the last time I took the DIY method until now. I received the new Kiss Everlasting French Nails in style EF05 in medium length.
Kiss New Everlasting French Nails are guaranteed to be chip free and are advertised as being better than salon nails. In theory, considering how extravagant some salon prices are ($40+), artificial nail kits that can be applied at home is an affordable, guilty pleasure. Especially when they're natural looking, comfortable, and you don't have to worry about chipping and damage to your nail bed. This is the new technology that Kiss Nails have incorporated in their Everlasting French Nails. My only quip is that the white tips are brilliantly white. I would have liked for Kiss to give you the option of sporting a more natural-colored tip. That's just me though.
My sister washed dishes, mopped floors, smacked random knuckleheads and her French tips still looked flawless. Instead of the usual airbrushing design, these new nails have molded plastic tips which makes chipping impossible! I wouldn't exactly call them everlasting because it is recommended that you only wear them for a week.
I used my sister as a subject because homegirl is a tomboy for real - even more so than me when I was her age. Applying them were a no-brainer -she was able to find the perfect match for each digit fairly quickly. I noticed that instead of the usual size, these nails actually came in two sizes and lengths - flat and regular; real short and medium. I loved the options because after wearing salon nails for a while, the natural arch of my nail bed have been sanded down quite a bit.
Before I could even take a picture of her nails in their original state, she painted them a startling silver shade! I asked why she decided to paint them and she said that she while the plain white tip looked good, she wanted to practice her polishing skills.

I also received the Kiss All or One Artificial Nail Remover. My sister didn't use it to take her nails off but I did use it to remove the gel acrylic off my natural nails. I dipped all off my nails into the container. Instead of the usual sponge-like interior, this nail remover had inner scrubbing brittles that help soften your nail enhancements and cleans the residue off the nailplate and the cuticle area. To my surprise, it took off a considerable amount of the gel acrylic I had but later on, I went to J. Nails in San Antonio and they removed the rest of the overlay. However, my sister's nails look professionally done minus the nail polish, don't they?
Now, I am wearing my own nails but I'll be asking my sister to apply the rest of the Kiss Everlasting French tips so that you'll see what they look like on me! I will be filing these down since they are a bit too long and I'm always on my laptop. Don't want to have a freak accident! I still haven't found my own camera, but I'll be borrowing my mom's until I replace my Canon Powershot. In the meantime, let me know your thoughts about the Kiss Everlasting French Nails. Have you tried them or do you refrain from false nails period, regardless of the brand and technology?
*Edit:* My sister told me that she noticed that she had to use more glue than usual so that the Kiss nails would stay on. She also said that when she did that, she could see the glue underneath, which in turn made the nails look unattractive. That was the real reason why she painted over them because if she had just left them bare, people would have known that they were press on nails. On the other hand, when she painted them silver, people actually thought she went to salon and others thought it was her real nails. Interesting, don't you think? I guess it really does depend on the brand you use and how adept you are at applying them. I can't wait for her to do mine tonight!
Girl, this is why I love your blog (my husband wallet hate it.) I didn't even know this existed! Owww How long did it take for the complete removal?
